Role in SEAS-ERA: UKRTECHINFORM will lead the capacity building in the Black Sea (Task 8.5), and will contribute to the different tasks under WP8, as well as to WP1, and WP2.
The Centre for Scientific and Technical Information and Innovation Promotion of Ukranie, Ukraine (UKRTECHINFORM) subordinates to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and is one of its subsidiary agencies being a partner to a number of acting projects of European Commission according to the Agreement on co- operation in Science and Technology between the European Community and Ukraine of 4 July 2002.
UKRTECHINFORM was founded in 1969 with the purpose to promote scientific-technical and innovation- investment activities, provide application of S&T achievements, extension of scientific production management methods and scientific labour organization, increase of labour productivity and enhancement of products quality.
Now UKRTECHINFORM is one of the key organizations of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in implementation and coordination of international academic and scientific activities for more than 10 years. In 2003 Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine designated UKRTECHINFORM to be one of organisations to provide information support of innovation and investment activities in Ukraine, to spread S&T-related information and signposting current situation to authorised bodies and institutions in Ukraine. UKRTECHINFORMI is staffed by highly qualified specialists having many years' working experience.
UKRTECHINFORM has a well-developed links and cooperation with scientific bodies of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, specific agencies (e.g. National Space Agency of Ukraine), industry under specific and bilateral programmes of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
In 2007 the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine established the National Information Centre for Ukraine - EU S&T Cooperation (NIP Ukraine) on the basis of UKRTECHINFORM and provided participation in the IFP6 and FP7 projects:
- SCOPE-EAST: Scenarios for coordinated approach to sustainable S/T cooperation with the Eastern Neighbors of the EU (FP6);
- ERANIS: Strengthening cooperation between European Research Area and NIS (FP6);
- IDEALIST FP7: Support for participants in ICT Priority by network for IST under the transition to the FP7 (FP6);
- IncoNet-EECA: S&T International Cooperation Network for Easter European and Central Asian Countries (FP7);
- BILAT-UKR: Enhancing the Bilateral S&T Cooperation Partnerships with Ukraine (FP7) etc.
UKRTECHINFORM maintains contacts with universities and research organisations of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, National Space Agency of Ukraine, Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, other related bodies.
