Description
Unitatea Executiva pentru Finantarea Invatamantului Superior, a Cercetarii, Dezvoltarii si Inovarii (UEFISCDI) is a public body of the Central Administration under the ultimate authority of Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport (MERYS).
It acts as executive agency for the consultative councils with attributes in the domain of higher education, research, development and innovation of the MERYS, namely: National Council for Financing of Higher Education (CNFIS), National Council for Research in Higher Education (CNCSIS), National Council for De velopment and Innovation (CNDI), Advisory Board for Research, Development and Innovation (CCCDI) and National Council for Ethics in Research, Technological Development and Innovation (CNECSDTI).
UEFISCDI, initially with the acronym UEFISCSU reached the current format in July 2010, through the Governmental Decision nr. 74/2010, by merging three organisations with responsibilities for the management and administration of various programs in the field of higher educa tion, research, development and innovation.
